Cardiology of Virginia has taken a unique approach in providing cardiology services to our hospitalized patients.  We have hospital-based physicians who provide continuous care for our inpatients.  These physicians are board certified internists and family physicians.  They work under the direct supervision of Dr. Mark Johns and Dr. Edson De Guzman.

We have been embraced by the hospitals, primary care practices, and many specialty groups.  The insurance companies (health and malpractice carriers) have also welcomed us with enthusiasm due to competent, timely, and cost effective care over the last four years.     

It is our belief that hospital-based specialist physicians will become the norm in the delivery of competent, cost effective health care in the inpatient setting in the near future.  Our hospital-based physicians are not health care extenders, but rather they are managers of competent care which our colleagues demand and our patients deserve.
