Dr. Gvakharia is one of our hospital-based physicians. He comes to COV with a unique background.  His medical education began in the Republic of Georgia.  From 1985-1990, he completed his training in Internal Medicine and Cardiology.  In 1993, Dr. Gvakharia moved to the United States and worked as a consultant for medical device companies.  More recently, he completed an internal medicine residency in the United States.  Affable and always available to address patients’ concerns, Dr. Gvakharia divides his time among the three hospitals at which COV sees patients.

Education:  Tbilisi State Medical Institute
Residency:  Internal Medicine in the Republic of Georgia
Fellowship:  Cardiology in the Republic of Georgia
Residency:  Internal Medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School
